Privacy & Cookies

Who we are

Steve and Rachel Mawston operate this website personally and are responsible for how your personal information is used. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email hello@steveandrachel.co.uk.

Information we collect

When you contact us, we receive your name, email address, enquiry topic, message and any church or organisation name you choose to provide. We also receive information you send in later correspondence. Our website and security providers process technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, to deliver and protect the website.

Please do not include confidential pastoral, health or other sensitive personal information in your initial enquiry. If that information is needed later, we will discuss an appropriate way to share it.

How and why we use your information

We use your information to respond to enquiries, arrange speaking, coaching or course-related conversations, and administer any services you request. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to correspondence and running a secure website, or on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract where that applies.

Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails. If we offer optional marketing subscriptions, we will explain them separately and provide a way to unsubscribe.

Who receives your information

Steve, Rachel and authorised administrative support may access enquiries where needed to respond. We use Webflow to host the website and process form submissions, Google Workspace for email, and Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated spam. Adobe Fonts supplies our website typefaces. These providers may process technical information when their services are used. We do not sell your personal information.

Our intro video is hosted by Vimeo. Loading or watching it allows Vimeo to receive technical information about your visit. Vimeo's handling of that information is explained in its privacy policy.

How long we keep information

We keep general and unsuccessful enquiries for up to three months after the enquiry is closed or our last meaningful correspondence, then delete them from our active enquiry records. If you become a client or take part in a service, relevant information may need to be kept for longer to manage that relationship or meet legal obligations. We will explain any applicable additional retention arrangements when needed.

International processing

Some of our service providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for a restricted transfer, appropriate transfer arrangements must be in place. You can contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion, restrict or object to its use, or request a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Email hello@steveandrachel.co.uk to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies and similar storage can help a website work, remember choices and protect against misuse. Our site remembers when you dismiss the announcement banner for the current browsing session. It also stores your footer-animation pause preference in your browser until that storage is cleared or the preference is changed. Security services may use necessary technical storage to protect the site and form.

Our Vimeo introduction video is optional. We do not load its player until you accept optional cookies or enable Vimeo in Cookie settings. Loading the player allows Vimeo to receive your IP address and device information and use cookies or similar technologies. We use Vimeo’s privacy-enhanced setting. You can reject optional cookies and use the rest of the site without watching the video.

After you allow the player, Vimeo and its security provider may set bot-protection cookies such as __cf_bm (around 30 minutes), cf_clearance (up to one year) and player_clearance (up to seven days), and session cookies used for security or rate limiting. The exact cookies can vary. See Vimeo’s player cookie information for its current list. Your browser may also send Vimeo cookies already stored from earlier visits.

We remember your acceptance or rejection for 180 days in this browser using local storage named sr_cookie_consent_v1. If you clear your browser storage, use another browser or the choice expires, we ask again. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to change your choice. Turning off Vimeo and saving your preferences unloads the player and prevents it loading on later visits while that choice remains saved. Withdrawal does not undo earlier processing or delete cookies already set by Vimeo; you can remove those through your browser settings. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page.
